A respiratory service has an opportunity available for a motivated and dynamic specialist looking for a new challenge and interest to join an enthusiastic team of 6 respiratory physicians. In this role, you will provide respiratory care in a busy new inpatient ward, consultations to other inpatient services and outpatient clinics, while being supported by registrars, clinical and research nurses and allied health services. The respiratory laboratory is fully functional and also going through the process of expansion of the services.

This hospital is a full-service facility offering specialised medical care, and the full complement of emergency services. The hospital provides tertiary care for cardiothoracic surgery and is the lead in regional cancer care for a population of over 800,000.

To be successful in applying for this position you must be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, hold specialist qualifications and meet the English language proficiency requirements. Although not essential, it would be beneficial if you have a strong clinical background in asthma and respiratory physiology. An interest in research is essential as the service has a strong research focus, publishing many clinical papers each year and collaborate with national and international groups in conducting clinical research and audit.
