== The Position ==: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist with a passion for Adult Inpatient and Community Psychiatry to join a collaborative and supportive team. The mental health and addiction team service a population of 220,000. In this role you will be working with a community mental health and addictions multidisciplinary clinical team, the acute inpatient unit and NGO and primary care providers. You will work across a number of cross-district service relationships that include general adult, consultation-liaison, child and adolescent, addiction and mental health services for older people. This hospital looking for a psychiatrist who has a passion for service development and an interest in education and research. You will also be responsible for supervising Psychiatry Registrars.  The Hospital The appointment is based in a newly redeveloped secondary hospital that provides services including acute and elective medical, surgical and paediatric services. With a mental health unit consisting of 11 beds, your time will be split between inpatient and the community.    The hospital is intended to become a key base for clinical and medical trainees in the future as its clinical school becomes more established. This means that there will great scope for growth in the teaching and training of staff.   == The Location == You will have the pleasure of being based in New Zealand?s Bay of Plenty. Alternatively, you must be eligible for AHPRA registration, possess equivalent qualifications and be eligible for FRANZCP.
