As Emergency Medicine Consultant you will enjoy a great amount of autonomy seeing your own patients and writing your own notes. There will be 1-2 Consultants on each shift and there are no junior doctors. Opening hours are 7am to 11pm, with flexible rostering options and no overnight shifts. There are options for fly-in-fly-out arrangements if this would better suit your circumstances.
The hospital is a modern 100-bed facility offering specialists units in oncology, medical, surgical, obstetric, coronary care and palliative care as well as x-ray, pathology and pharmacy services. The service has a focus on work-life balance as well as professional development opportunities and provides placement opportunities in affiliated Emergency Departments across the country.
Located on the east coast of Queensland, this is a fantastic opportunity to take advantage of a role that can offer a work-life balance in a beautiful region. Off the coast is a section of the Great Barrier Reef and closer to shore are islands rich in marine life, rainforests and koalas. To be eligible for this role you must hold Fellowship with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine as well as AHPRA Specialist Registration.
