Paediatric Resident Medical Officer

The Position
Joining as a Paediatric Resident Medical Officer, you will be involved in registrar level clinical duties such as managing the medical care of all children attending the 60-bed unit. Working closely with a highly experienced and specialist multicultural and multidisciplinary team, including renowned Consultants, you will help ensure the patients’ treatment and care needs are always met at the highest standard. Along with completing tasks such as carrying out routine medical procedures, you may be required to attend newborns in the maternity unit or to manage babies on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

 If you have an interest in studying for a higher degree, this health service can support you due to its links to local Institutes to provide a programme of joint appointments.

The Hospital
With 60 paediatric beds, a neonatal intensive care unit shortly to accept babies from 28 weeks gestation and a separate 6 bedded (expandable to 10 beds) Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, this hospital is the UK’s only dedicated Private Women and Children’s Hospital. Forming part of a wider health care provider group, many renowned Paediatric Consultants from across a range of medical and surgical sub-specialities treat their private patients within this hospital.

The Location
Based in an inner-city and affluent area of London, this role offers easy access to the city and all its attractions. Situated near a Zone 1 tube line and train station that reaches outer suburbs and the wider region, you can easily access this hospital from further afield.

In regards to London itself, you will find yourself spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants, shopping, concerts, events and general things to do. As a large city there is always a new area to explore, new band to see or new café opening as well as the world recognised attractions to visit.

Essential Criteria
You must have current GMC registration or have held GMC registration within the past 2 years. If you have not previously held GMC registration but are currently eligible to apply your application may also be considered. You must have Specialist Trainee or registrar level experience at a minimum level of 5 years postgraduate.
