As an O&G Specialist you will ensure the efficient and successful management of the Women’s Health Service. Your role will encompass clinical leadership, risk minimization and improvements to patient care. The current Birth Rate is approximately 1,250 per year with a significant number of high risk pregnancies. As a specialist you will also actively be involved in administration, audits, teaching, supervision, management and leadership. You will work in harmony with the Clinical Director with the Maternity Services, Theatre and Outpatient Managers to ensure objectives are being met. This is a part time (.6) role with a 1:4 roster with excellent peer support.
The Health Service
This role will see you join a Regional Public Health Service with various campuses located across Victoria. As such there are plenty of options for progression or relocation. The health service provides a range of acute, mental health, aged and primary health and community support services.
You will be joining a supportive and welcoming team of six Specialist Obstetricians, six Registrars and three House Officers. In addition, local General Practitioners with obstetric qualifications support the unit. The Maternity Unit is a level 5 service. The hospital boasts a Special Care Nursery and is equipped to manage newborns from 32 weeks gestation, and an Adult Intensive Care facility.

The successful applicant must have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
