As a Registrar in O&G you will provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, in a complex clinical environment in inpatients and outpatients areas. You will be responsible for the initial assessment of patients and ongoing day to day managements under the direction of the appropriate attending medical officer. You will ensure the appropriate communication and documentation takes place and have responsibility for the training and supervision of junior medical staff. You will be required to participate in the afterhours and relief roster. This fixed-term opportunity is available to unaccredited Registrars or Advanced Trainees, with an immediate commencement date until 2 February 2020.
This is a major referral and teaching hospital; the O&G Unit itself has 48 beds, 24 antenatal and 24 post-natal. This is a world-class facility, investing $1 billion into the expansion and upgrades of its services. This hospital is recognised as compromising one of the largest and busiest maternity care facilities in Western Sydney, providing care for approximately 4,000 births per year, including high-risk antenatal care. You will also be servicing the State’s highest population of high-risk groups such as Aboriginal and Pacific Islander women. Since becoming a teaching hospital in 1990, this hospital has experienced continued growth in its teaching and research.
This region is encompassed by nature, neighbouring beautiful lookouts and walking trails. You will enjoy a wonderful sense of caring in the community and a step back from the rushed pace of city life. You will enjoy a variety of activities in your time-off, from exploring the nearby bushwalking trails, eucalyptus forests and waterfalls, to indulging in the many shopping and entertainment venues, all with the bustling city in easy access, an hour-drive or express train trip away from Sydney’s CBD. This could be a great alternative to living in Sydney, with more affordable housing and living costs, or there is also the option to live inner city and commute if preferred.
You will hold current registration with AHPRA and be PGY4+ in your level of experience, with 12 months experience in O&G.
