A new and exciting opportunity for a Medical Oncologist to lead and develop a local oncology service within the area. This full time role will work closely with the regional service to provide comprehensive care to the outpatient, inpatient and chemotherapy patients. You will need to be a passionate and committed specialist with the ability to work closely the local and regional teams and foster a learning culture with the undergraduate and postgraduate staff.
This District health board provides care to an area population of 108,000 people through the facilities located in the North Island. The two hospitals underwent a rebuild in 2013 which updated the ward and theatre areas and provided state of the art ambulatory outpatient area for gynaecology to facilitate outpatient hysteroscopy and colposcopy. The hospital is associated with a large medical school and the department provides teaching for 5th and 6th year medical students which you will need to be involved in. Both hospitals provide chemotherapy services and you will be fully supported by a team of cancer nurses, oncologists and clinical nurse specialists.
