== The Position == As an Emergency Medicine visiting medical officer, you will provide professional specialist medical care to all public and private patients who attend the department, including paediatric presentations. Carrying out contracted shifts, you will be involved in delivering high quality clinical care which in turn will set a precedent for junior staff and medical students. You will also aid in their development by offering guidance, advice and by acting as a resource person. The Hospital This major referral hospital offers a wide range of medical and surgical specialties and has the largest geographical catchment area of any service in NSW. With newly opened surgical services and maternity building, a brand new Emergency Department is also due to open in 2019. The current Emergency Department has over 30,000 presentations per annum with a 23% admission rate and a 30% paediatric case load. It is also a department accredited for 6 months advanced training with ACEM. == The Location == This thriving regional city is home to 41,000 residents and the total catchment area has a population of roughly 120,000 people. It offers a great range of attractions from bird watching at nature reserves to animal spotting at the safari park, or cycling the local tracks to canoeing or kayaking down the scenic Macquarie River. == Essential Criteria == As a FACEM with general specialist AHPRA registration you will have clinical experience in hospital emergency medicine within the last two years.
