Join an innovative, multi-disciplinary team of specialists to provide clinical and non-clinical services to a rapidly growing and diverse population. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting inpatient infectious disease consultations and outpatient clinics.
Additionally, you will act as the Clinical Lead of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme (AMS) to educate and advise hospital staff on the appropriate use of antimicrobials and infection prevention. This role entails collaborating across various clinical divisions, educating and gathering feedback from antimicrobial prescribers, and coordinating the audit of the AMS programme.
The role reports directly to the Director Medicine and Clinical Director of Integrated Care and requires the supervision of Registrars, Principal House Officers, Senior and Junior House Officers and Interns in the performance of their clinical duties.
This 351-bed hospital services all major health specialities, including anaesthetics, emergency, medicine, surgery, intensive and coronary care to name a few. It plays a major teaching role, providing both undergraduate and postgraduate clinical education and training.
Situated just 40km from Brisbane’s CBD, this hospital underwent extensive expansion which was completed in 2014. This transferred the hospital into a state-of-the-art medical facility and provided additional capacity to help meet the growing health needs of the region’s population over the short-to-medium term.

To be successful in applying for this position you must hold FRACP in Infectious Diseases and be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or be close to obtaining fellowship and be eligible as an Infectious Disease Specialist with AHRPA.
