The Position
Wavelength has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Intensivist to join a dedicated facility in North Queensland. You will lead and oversee this new unit to establish and develop its team and facilities, dedicated to providing high level clinical care. You will work in a small, level four unit with a CMO on site 24/7. You will drive the expansion of services as you demonstrate a strong level of clinical acumen and leadership in addition to supporting the nearby cardio catheter lab. Additionally, the role requires a commitment to the on-call roster and after-hours coverage.

The Hospital
As the premier health care provider for the region, the Hospital services a population of around 60,000 residents and operates as a private hospital. The facility has 140 beds and offers services such as Coronary Care, Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery, ENT Surgery, Obstetrics and Urology. There are a number of operating theatres, alongside a day surgery unit offering a wide range of services to both the local community and its surrounds. The well-established Hospital has been in operation since 1915 and is set in a heritage listed building. Refurbishments to the Cardiac Catheter Lab and Oncology ward, ensure this facility remains a leader in providing state of the art health care.  The Hospital has close ties with the local community, providing one of the only Rehabilitation units in Far North Queensland.

Essential Criteria
The successful candidate will be a Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand and hold specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
