As a Registrar in the ICU, you will help cover a 24-hour roster to provide onsite medical care, assessment and coordination of all patients within the 11 bed unit. As per the direction of the ICU Consultants, you may also be involved with assessment and review of deteriorating or high-risk patients in other areas of the hospital as well. Ideally you will be able to work a block of 6 shifts, with 3 days shifts and 3 night shifts, before having a block of days off. You will be confident to work alone on nights, with on-call support.
You will be joining a large private hospital, leading in Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Surgical and Medical Care. This service has a modern Maternity and Women?s Health Unit, a 24/7 Emergency Department, an Endoscopy Unit, ICU and CCU. The ICU manages a variety of elective and non-elective, potentially invasive support, including ventilatory support, cardiovascular support, and renal replacement therapy and invasive haemodynamic monitoring. Recently, the hospital commenced Cardiac surgery, creating a need for 24-hour support.

You will have experience at a Registrar level in ICU, Anaesthetics or Emergency Medicine, preferably with some ICU experience. You will hold current AHPRA registration with no conditions. Overseas trained doctors without AHPRA registration cannot be supported at this stage.
