As an ICU Registrar, you will provide support to a new 8-bed ICU from August 2018. Joining the new ICU team, your role will be integral to managing increased patient acuity as well as supporting the expanding surgical and subspecialty medical services. You will be supported with 24/7 FCICM consultant cover as you learn skills and techniques in the assessment, triage, resuscitation and further management of patients with acute medical and surgical disorders including respiratory, cardiovascular and renal support.
With a minimum commitment of 6 months required there is the potential for a 12 month contract as well.
You will be employed via one of the largest hospitals in Melbourne and seconded to this large regional public hospital, currently undergoing an $87 million-dollar expansion to meet the needs of the rapidly growing local area, increasing bed numbers to 298 and adding 6 new operating theatres. The new 8-bed ICU in which you will be providing high quality clinical care, is another addition of the recent developments. The department sees a lot of obstetrics cases, medical and surgical.

Critical care trainees from PGY3 onward with AHPRA General registration will be considered suitable to apply for this role.
