This medical centre prides themselves on delivering quality care to the local community is home to five GPs. Due to a GP relocating, we are looking for a GP/VMO with Anaesthetic and/or Obstetric skills to join this community focused practice.
 
You will enjoy a varied day where your time is divided between the medical centre, the hospital and the urgent care centre.
 
The medical centre is a mixed billing practice and you will see approx. 25 patients per day. The practice is open from Monday to Friday with two sessions per day. A morning session from 10.00am-12.00pm and an afternoon session from 1.30pm-5.30pm.  On Saturday mornings, the on-call doctor conducts consultations at the clinic from 9.30am-12.00pm. Generally patients are booked in 10-15min appointments however longer appointments can be made depending on the patient.
 
The hospital has 16 beds and was completely rebuilt in 1997. This included a new labour ward, theatre and addition of piped gases to the new wards. You will conduct a daily ward round at 8.30am on weekdays. The weekends and afterhours are managed by the doctor rostered on-call. The Urgent Care Centre is mainly used for weekends and emergencies. The on-call weekend roster is 1:6 and the on-call weekday roster is 1 day per week.
 
In terms of obstetrics the hospital have a list of 60 or more deliveries a year.  Appointments are distributed evenly between the obstetric doctors. During delivery the patient’s own doctor is in attendance, unless complications and an emergency LUSC is performed.
 
In terms of Anaesthetics, there is one list of 10 patient a month with Visiting General Surgeon. One doctor is allocated to assist the surgeon on larger operations. There is a minor procedural theatre twice monthly.
 
There is also a 16 bed Nursing Home facility attached to the hospital and a 45 bed aged care facility is located behind the hospital under a separate committee of management.

DWS position available.
 
In order to be eligible for this exciting role, International Medical Graduates are required to hold post graduate qualifications in General Practice (i.e. FRACGP, FRNZCGP, MRCGP, MICGP or CCFP). General Practitioners who have one of the above recognised post graduate qualifications are eligible for reciprocal recognition with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and Wavelength International will assist you with the required regulatory and immigration process.
