The Location

This is the most culturally diverse suburb in Newcastle and home to over 14,000 residents from all over the world. Newcastle city centre is currently undergoing significant growth and construction of both private and government infrastructure, retail and housing projects. The city population is on a rapid increase. Situated 6kms from Newcastle city centre and beaches, it's an easy 10 drive or 20 min bike ride, making it a good choice for city residents to choose for services such as medical and healthcare. This is a very centrally located suburb with university, hospitals very close by and well serviced by transport, government services, shopping, schools, daycare, gyms, cafes (some of the best coffee in Newcastle) etc. It is a leafy suburb with lots of open park spaces. It's on the way to the Hunter Valley and close to Lake Macquarie. This is a suburb undergoing gentrification which means they have a wonderfully diverse demographic from the older migrants, young families, professionals, artists, musicians and the creative ‘fringe’, to low socio-economic groups; the suburb is developing quickly.
