This hospital is looking for a General Practitioner to deliver high quality clinical services as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering integrated health services to the indigenous community.
Consisting of an emergency department, a 15-bed general ward this hospital offers a primary level of acute care services, emergency services, General Medicine and minor surgical procedures.
Caring for all non-critically ill patients, including antenates, neonates, children, adults and aged care. This full-time position requires participation in the on-call for afterhours emergencies roster and offers the opportunity to provide locals with preventative health care, and to improve the general health of the community.

This tropical island situated 70 km north of Townsville presents clear blue waters and green hills of tropical rainforest. This island has a resident community of about 5,000 people. It consists of small bays, sandy beaches and steep forested mountains rising to a peak of 548 metres.

In order to be eligible for this exciting role, International Medical Graduates are required to hold postgraduate qualifications in General Practice (i.e. FRACGP, FRNZCGP, MRCGP, MICGP or CCFP). General Practitioners who have one of the above-recognised postgraduate qualifications are eligible for reciprocal recognition with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and Wavelength International will assist you with the required regulatory and immigration process.
Post graduate qualifications and demonstrated capability and experience in at least one of the following Advanced Skills disciplines is highly desirable: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and/or Emergency Medicine.
