== The Position == An opportunity exists for a Rehabilitation specialist to join a Medicine Department in the North Island, New Zealand. Your clinical duties will include a combination of inpatient and outpatient for the Older Adult, Rehabilitation and Allied Health services while providing leadership and maintaining a collaborative and collegial professional environment. You will provide consultant services to patients requiring your specialist care and act as an educator and mentor to junior medical staff attached to the unit. You will be known by your peers as someone who works to improve the way services are developed and delivered, working towards improving service delivery and supporting the strategic direction of the service through your specialist experience and broad approach to future planning.  The Hospital This tertiary referral hospital is one of the largest in the region, serving a population of approximately 300,000 and providing specialist services for a regional population of about 900,000, delivering community, primary, secondary and tertiary health services.  The hospital offers complex specialist and acute services, procedures and treatments such as the intensive care unit, cardiac surgery, cancer care, cardiology procedures, neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery, and renal care available. The hospital recently underwent redevelopment and now offers state of the art theatres, a new neonatal ward, and a larger ICU.
