The Position
As a General Medicine Career Medical Officer, you will utilise your skills in acute medicine, palliative care and general medicine as well. In a hospital that works under a public-private partnership, you will work within and contribute to the values of the organisation whilst promoting and displaying consistent high standards of clinical care. You will be supported by a staff specialist and VMO’s whilst you also provide guidance and support to interns across the wards.

With a 12 month contract your hours will primarily consists of 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday hours with the option to carry out additional weekend or nightshifts at a penalty rate.

Operating under a unique public-private partnership with the NSW Government, this hospital consists of 120 beds and offers services such as medical, surgical, paediatric, intensive and coronary care. Along with a 24hour Emergency department, there is also an afterhours GP Clinic and a clinical and nursing school for a number of nearby Universities.

The Location
Situated at the fringe of the metropolitan area of Sydney, this city feels worlds away as it sits close to the river it is named after. With the river itself offering serene bays and inlets with surrounding forested slopes, you will find yourself enjoying boat trips along the tranquil water, fresh oysters at a nearby riverside café or a relaxing picnic spot where the whole family can enjoy the views. You will also find the opportunity for bushwalks, mountain biking, fishing or canoeing.

As for the city, you will find many amenities such as cafes, shops and bars along with the Regional Gallery and Regional Museum. With plenty of fresh local produce to enjoy, you can also take part in the Farm Gate Trail on a self-drive tour of local orchards, wineries and arts and crafts shops. With a largely rural feel, the city has a community focus and attracts young families.

Essential Criteria
With AHPRA General Registration you will be confident in your ability to work independently having gained at least 4 years prior experience in General Medicine.
