You will work with a multidisciplinary team who are passionate and enthusiastic about quality improvement initiatives and patient safety. As opposed to busy metropolitan inpatient units, the patient load here is lower and well supported to allow you to develop your areas of special interest, transition into management roles, pursue research, or become involved in the education and training of medical students and RANZCP trainees. The inpatient unit is undergoing an exciting refurbishment to enhance the therapeutic environment for patients. The team has a very successful transition to mental health nursing program, so you'll benefit from high calibre nursing support, both now and into the future.

The hospital services a population catchment of 180,000 offering services such as Maternity, Paediatric, Coronary Care, Mental health, Intensive Care and also High Dependency Care. The mental health services include a 24-bed acute adult Inpatient Unit, an 8-bed Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit, as well as an Older Adult Unit, Consultation Liaison services and Community teams.

Australia/NZ must hold FRANZCP and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA. UK/Ireland must hold MRC Psych/FRC Psych plus UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more. USA Must hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more. Canada must hold Fellowship in Psychiatry or Certificate in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
Other qualifications can of course be assessed on a case-by-case basis. For those unable to work at Consultant level, there are multiple opportunities to take advantage of at Senior Medical Officer and Registrar level.
