Located 935 km west-north-west of Sydney, 725 km north-west of Melbourne, and 420 km north-east of Adelaide, the town is set amongst a dramatic desert landscape. Often described as an oasis in the desert, the town was built on the back of a mining boom that began during the 1880’s due to the discovery of rich deposits of lead, silver and zinc. The town attracts a rich mix of residents; lifestyle is an important focus for those who move here. It is known for its blossoming arts community, mining heritage and tourism industry. The region has a variety of public education opportunities and an extensive choice of affordable residential properties making it popular with families, young couples, and retirees. Here, you will find a fantastic lifestyle for you and your family, with excellent health and education services, shorter commuting times, plenty of fresh air and an impressive spirit of community and creativity.
Keys to Success
You will be a strong team player and will encourage engagement, communication, collaboration, and collegiate relationships with a multidisciplinary approach to ensure the best possible service is delivered. You will demonstrate high-level communication skills and be adept at building new, and developing existing, relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and clinical governance; and the ability to contribute in a hands-on management role will be highly regarded.
Ideally you will hold FRACMA, however another medical specialist qualification with an Australasian college combined with leadership experience in medical administration would also be considered. In either case, you must hold or be eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA.
