As an Emergency Medicine Specialist you will enjoy the opportunity to work in a supportive team, furthering your career in a stunning location, whilst making a real difference to the community. Working alongside the Director and FACEM colleagues you will ensure the Emergency Department runs to the highest of standards. You will support the clinical care of patients via planning, supervising and arranging appropriate clinical investigations and liaise with and maintain good communication with all areas and disciplines within the health service. Along with supporting Career Medical Officers you will also offer guidance and support to Registrars and Junior Medical Officers.
The Health Service
The Health Service comprises of a 130 bed community hospital and a 160 bed accredited teaching hospital that is co-located with a 70 bed private facility and a rural health clinical school. The service provides high quality health care and specialist services to a region with a catchment area of 120,000 people.The Emergency Service has departments at both the community and the teaching hospital, combined the service sees 26,000 presentations each year, with an average of 70 patients per day. The Emergency Service treats a broad range of patients including major trauma cases.
The service prides itself on its teaching program and is serious about education. Both ED's are accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for advanced training in Emergency Medicine.

With AHPRA Specialist Registration and your fellowship with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, you will be ready to utilise your skills and experience whilst enjoying an enviable lifestlye. Alternatively, you will be a Consultant eligible for registration with experience from a comparable health care country. Unless you are a native English speaker you must also meet the English language proficiency requirements.
