As an Emergency Medicine Consultant you will find yourself joining a supportive team where your hands-on approach can make a real difference to the community. Working alongside the Director, FACEMs, CMOs and more junior staff, you will ensure the Emergency Department runs to the highest of standards and will have the ability to assist with patient flow. You will support the clinical care of patients via planning, supervising and arranging appropriate clinical investigations and will liaise with and maintain good communication with all areas and disciplines within the health service.

The Health Service
This 160 bed accredited teaching hospital, provides quality clinical care to the population of over 100,000. It is co-located with the private hospital and University Rural clinical school and prides itself on education and training. With services on offer including surgery, intensive care, medical and allied health, the Emergency Department itself see’s an average of 25,000 patients per year. A broad range of patients are treated including from birth to over 100 years old meaning you will gain exposure to major trauma cases, paediatric cases and elderly patients.

You will be a FACEM with AHPRA Specialist Registration or be eligibile for registration with fellowship equivalent from a country with a comparable health system. You will have a solid understanding of emergency medicine and be confident in your ability to assist other members of the team.
