As a Senior Registrar in Emergency Medicine, you will attend to good mix of both surgical and medical cases with the ability to work primarily independently, providing in-charge nightshift cover and support to more junior staff. In terms of career progression, this department is accredited for 12 months of advanced training and offers 4 hours of formal teaching every week, an in situ simulation program, mentoring program and rostered non-clinical time for study and quality programs. There is a strong educational record with a demonstrated 100% pass rate in the ED fellowship exam. Further, you will be joining a department led by a Consultant who has been recognised by ACEM as an inspirational leader with a keen interest in improving workplace culture and advocating for increased senior medical staffing, building positive relationships, providing excellent clinically-orientated education and mentoring trainees and junior staff. Rotations will also be available to Anaesthetics, ICU, Paediatrics and the Medical Admission Unit.
Currently undergoing redevelopments worth over AUD$300 million, you will be joining a state-of-the-art hospital. Having already completed the first stage, a new facility has opened in order to deliver additional clinical and support services, including eight new operating theatres, surgical in-patient units and sterilising and pathology services. The next stage will deliver another new facility including a refurbished and expanded Emergency Department and a new multi-storey Clinical Services Building. Currently, the Emergency Department sees about 45,000 patients per year, with approximately 25% paediatric presentations.

You must hold registration with the Australian Medical Board (AHPRA) or be eligible for registration with experience from New Zealand, Ireland, the UK, Canada, USA or South Africa.
