== The Position == As a passionate and motivated Emergency Medicine Senior Registrar, your will use your expertise to contribute to the high quality of clinical care expected for all patients whilst also offering assistance and guidance to junior staff and students. You will be required to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate patient management as well as communicating with family, outside medical practitioners and/or community services concerning patient management. Working under the supervision of staff specialists you will be responsible for providing ongoing management and care for patients requiring assessment, short stay admission and discharge from the Emergency Department within a 24-hour period and you will have exposure to a good mix of complex medical and surgical cases as well as minor injuries and fast track patients. The Hospital Established in 1939, this public hospital offers services including Emergency Care, General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Midwifery and Rehabilitation. Soon due to undergo a $20 million dollar expansion, there will be the addition of a 14 bed critical care unit and an overall increase of 20 beds throughout the hospital. With the expansion due to be complete by 2018, the addition of the critical care unit will decrease the need for patient transfers and there will also be improvements to the Paediatric unit, in particularly the short stay beds.
