This busy regional health service provider is looking for a highly committed and hardworking Emergency Medicine SMO to join their high functioning and experienced ED team. In this position you will deliver respected senior clinical medical care and supervise the delivery of medical care by interns, Hospital Medical Officers and registrars. Contributing to the future direction of the department, you will provide expert input into the clinical governance of activities. This large regional hospital admits 10,000 patients and provides 30,000 outpatient services annually. The Emergency Department sees approximately 20,000 presentations yearly, around 3,000 of which are admitted acutely. With highly skilled staff and access to specialist services as needed, this recently refurbished Emergency department provides a high quality emergency treatment service to the community it supports. The department also incorporates a recently opened Short Stay Unit which is a dedicated 5 bed facility that is designed to provide ongoing observation, investigation and diagnostic services for patients in need of further care but who may not require admission to the hospital.

With your many years Emergency Medicine experience and confidence in being able to assist with the development of junior staff, you must have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or be eligible for registration in order to be considered for this position.
