As an Emergency Medicine Registrar you will join a well renowned team to provide outstanding care and service across the Emergency Department. You will be required to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate patient management as well as communicating with family, outside medical practitioners and/or community services concerning patient management. The position will require you to attend to patients in order of medical urgency, taking a full history and medical examination of new admissions and arranging appropriate investigation. You will work under the supervision of senior medical staff and will assist with medical procedures as required.
With rural industry, higher speed limit on the roads and increasing tourist volume leading to more trauma cases per capita than city hospitals this opportunity will give you exposure to varied presentations allowing you to broaden your depth of knowledge and experience.
As the biggest hospital and healthcare complex in regional Western Australia services are offered in all major medical specialities including general and respiratory medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and psychiatry to name but a few. As for the Emergency Department, recent redevelopment has led to it becoming the largest department in the hospital and the biggest Emergency department in WA outside of Perth. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with an average of 40,000 presentations per year. The department is staffed by Specialist Emergency Physicians, Senior Medical Practitioners (including experienced local GPs), Registrars and Interns.

To be eligible for this position you must have prior clinical and procedural experience in the field of Emergency Medicine and be dedicated to continuing with your development. You must have AHPRA registration already or be eligible for registration with experience in a country with a comparable health care system to Australia.
