As an Emergency Medicine Registrar you will join a dynamic and busy ED within a regional health service. You will be well supported by a cohesive team of Consultants, Registrars, juniors and by a highly trained and committed nursing team. The Emergency Department is accredited by the Australasian College of Rural and Remote Medicine for training and is currently in the process of regaining accreditation by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. There are also opportunities for appropriately trained and experienced Registrars to do retrievals.
You will be joining a 350-bed teaching hospital. The Emergency Department is well-equipped and has an annual attendance of 45,000 with a 26% inpatient admission and transfer rate. You will experience a varied case mix including major trauma and 20% paediatrics. You must hold or be eligible to apply for registration with the Australian Medical Board (AHPRA), with experience from a country with a comparable healthcare system (New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Canada or USA).
