As an Emergency Medicine Registrar you will be joining a supportive and well-resourced department. You will add to a 2-tier system of Junior and Senior Registrars in a positive culture and expanding team. You will commence in one Emergency Department until February 2019, potentially rotating to another site subsequently.
This service places person centred care at the heart of everything they do. You will be guided by values of integrity, compassion, respect and excellence. This is a six-month contract with the opportunity to be extend to 18-months if desired.
This Emergency Department is the busiest in acuity in Melbourne, seeing 77,000 presentations per year. This includes a 25% paediatric caseload and exposure to trauma. While this hospital does not provide all specialties in house, the service does attend to all cases and can transfer out if required.
This is a department accredited for training with ACEM with 5 hours protected teaching time each week and provides opportunities to be involved in research projects.
You will be working in an area known as Melbourne's favourite family playground, offering beautiful beaches, parks and gardens. You will not be short of activities for the whole family, water or land based, with access to shopping centres, specialty and fashion stores, cinemas, as well a nightlife and restaurant scene. The area has easily accessible public transport as well as convenient freeway access, with Melbourne's vibrant CBD less than an hour's drive away.
To be eligible for this role you must hold AHPRA General registration or be eligible for registration having worked in a comparable country.
