== The Position == This growing Emergency Department is seeking a passionate and motivated Emergency Medicine Registrar enrolled for ACEM training to join their dynamic team. With plans to develop in to a sub-regional hospital, presentations in the department are due to increase over the coming years and day to day responsibilities for these patients include ongoing management and care, short stay admission and discharge from the department. Contracted for 38 clinical hours per week, worked across 4 shifts, there is the additional commitment of 5 hours protected teaching time. The Hospital This hospital is part of a rapidly growing major public healthcare provider which provides a range of acute, sub-acute, ancillary medical, aged and ambulatory care services. The hospital is fully accredited by the Australian Council on Health Care Standards (ACHS) and is equipped to offer a broad range of specialist medical, surgical and obstetric services including orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gynaecology, paediatrics, urology and rehabilitation. The Emergency Department sees approximately 15,000 presentations per year and provides 24 hour, 7 days per week, patient centred care. It is equipped with a direct video link to Adult Retrieval Victoria (ARV) for advice and support for critically unwell patients. It consists of two resuscitation bays and four acute cubicles. == The Location == This charming part of Victoria is a popular tourist destination and thriving attractive seaside town with close access to unspoiled coastline, picturesque rural hinterland, quaint rural villages, bustling holiday towns, rolling hills and world-renowned surf breaks. On top of that it is only 2 hours from the Melbourne CBD. The commercial centre is lined with Norfolk Pines and has a wide boulevard with vast expanses of lawn along its centre. These tree-lined lawns include a war memorial and provide elevated views down towards the town centre. There are parks and reserves with picnic areas, BBQs and an adventure playground. There is a conservation park situated just north-west of the town's commercial centre which provides a network of walking tracks and boardwalks around lakes and through native vegetation. == Essential Criteria == To be successful in applying for this position you must have current registration with AHPRA and be a current trainee with ACEM.
