As Emergency Medicine Principle House Officer, you will join a busy emergency unit and multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, technicians, patient support assistants and allied health staff. You will provide high quality care to patients requiring urgent attention for a wide range of conditions. You will have the opportunity to build your clinical skills and gain hands-on experience with a variety of cases.
This is a 6 month fixed term role commencing in August 2018.
This regional hospital will be celebrating 25 years of care for the local community this year. It provides services across general medicine, general surgery, paediatrics and mental health to name but a few. With investments and development continuing, you will see the expansion of the Emergency Department, alongside improvements in a range of areas. The Emergency Department itself sees more than 56,000 patients per year, with approximately 11,000 paediatric cases. Around 8,000 patients are admitted to the Emergency Short Stay Unit and 11,000 patients are admitted from the Emergency Department to the hospital.
With a sub-tropical climate offering year-round sunshine, this region is just 60 minutes from Brisbane. It offers access to white sandy beaches and charming country villages. With a nearby island accessible by bridge, you can spend time-off spotting dolphins, dugongs and various bird species. You won't be short of outdoor activities with plenty of opportunities to surf, fish and explore the nearby forests and lookouts.
You must have AHPRA registration and the ability to commit to this 6-month role. You will enjoy gaining the exposure that this health service allows.
