The Position
In this role as Emergency Medicine Consultant, you will have knowledge and experience in the broad practice of Emergency Medicine, including adult medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry, trauma, toxicology and the full range of emergencies encountered in various specialties. You will join an innovative, dedicated and experienced team that pride themselves on providing high quality patient centred care.
An immediate start is available until February. As a part-time opportunity, you will be required to work 2 shifts per week (9.5 hours) and 1 in 4 weekends.
The Hospital
This large regional health service and University hospital provides care for approximately 73,000 presentations per year with a 30% paediatric case-load and 40% admission rate. The service has implemented a new emergency model of care whereby patients are streamed to dedicated assessment areas including fast track, adult, paediatric, resuscitation, trauma and mental health areas. You will support the health service’s mission to improve access and patient flow, providing a sustainable service that ensures high quality, safe and people-focused care, in an environment with modern and well-equipped facilities.

The Location
You will be working in the CBD, southwest of Melbourne (just over an hour by car or public transport) where you will enjoy a vibrant waterfront and nearby Botanic Gardens. You will have access to wildlife and coastal reserves, lakes, National Parks, bays and beaches. Essential Criteria

To be successful, you must have fellowship with ACEM  (or have just sat exams) and current Specialist registration with AHPRA. New FACEMS are encouraged to apply as it is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience.
