This hospital is seeking 3 FTE Emergency Medicine Specialists with strong clinical and leadership skills to join their well-established and dynamic ED team. In this position, you will be responsible for providing specialist ED consultation services to patients, and sound clinical leadership to registrars and junior medical officers. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the teaching and training of career medical officers, junior medical staff and registrars as part of the newly devised, and innovative Emergency Medicine Enrichment Programme.
This regional trauma centre provides a wide range of accessible healthcare services to a population of about 250,000 residents in the community. The hospital is split across two campuses, with two ED departments. One department consists of 20 treatment areas including 4 consulting rooms, a plaster room, an eye room, 12 general cubicles and 2 resuscitation beds and receives 35,000 presentations annually. The second department consists of 8 treatment areas with a capacity to house 12 patients. It has 2 resuscitation rooms and receives 32,000 presentations annually.
Made up of two cities which serve as a base for a larger regional population, you will join a bustling community based along the Murray River. To be successful, you must have fellowship with ACEM and current Specialist registration with AHPRA or be eligible for specialist registration with experience from a comparable health care country. New FACEMS are encouraged to apply as it is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience.
