The Position

As an Emergency Medicine Specialist joining this welcoming team, you will have the ability to supervise and train junior staff in a department accredited for ACEM training. Working a combination of day and evening shifts and with no on-call work, you will see a variety of presentations including regular GP type cases and 51% of level 1-3 cases. Working under the Director of the Emergency Department, the workforce is then made up of FACEM?s, CMO?s and JMO?s as well as the nursing staff. With this vacancy occurring due to growth, the majority of medical staff have been retained for over 5 years.

The Hospital

This 103 bed hospital has recently completed a $22 million re development, implementing new state of the art operating theatres and surgical services. Additionally, refurbishment of existing orthopaedic and medical imaging wards was completed. With an excess of 12,500 admissions per year, care is provided across such areas as Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Oncology and Renal Dialysis. As for the Emergency Medicine department, this has been newly refurbished and sees approximately 37,000 presentations annually with the numbers increasing.

Essential Criteria

The successful candidate will be a fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine and hold specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia. New Fellows are encouraged to apply.
