== The Position == With various opportunities available, as an Emergency Medicine Consultant you will primarily be responsible for the provision of high quality clinical care to the patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Along with managing your own patients you will also actively take part in the supervision and teaching of registrars, junior doctors and students and lead by quality example. You will join a cohesive team where you will show a strong interest in the future of the department and have a positive input in to its development.  You will find a well-balanced roster which supports the need for non-clinical time. The Hospital This public hospital offers a comprehensive range of specialist care across key medical and healthcare disciplines, including acute and sub-acute care, residential aged care, community care, psychiatric services and rehabilitation services. As for the Emergency Department itself, it has seen strong growth in recent years with patient attendances now around 53,000 per year. With an increase in ATS Category 2 and 3 patients there is now a higher admission rate of around 21%. As for Paediatric cases, this makes up around 18% of all presentations. Accredited with the ACEM for 12 months of advanced training, there are a number of Emergency Department certificate and diploma candidates working within the health service. == The Location == Situated 90 minutes from Melbourne?s CBD and seen as an affordable alternative, this city has experienced rapid growth and currently has a population of over 95,000 people. As for housing you can choose from established houses, vacant blocks to build on or farm land and forest acreage just 15 minutes out of town. == Essential Criteria == To be eligible for this position you must hold Fellowship with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine as well as AHPRA General Specialist Registration.
