== The Position == We are seeking a motivated and experienced Director Medical Services to provide high level medical administration advice and leadership to a committed team of medical officers, providing a broad range of clinical services. The role will provide overall management and support of VMOs, Staff Specialists and JMOs. As part of the Executive Team, and working closely with the General Manager, you will provide leadership management and strategic direction to improve the quality of health care. The role requires a collaborative approach to lead all aspects of medical service delivery, day to day operational management, and clinical governance including improvement initiatives within the service. The Local Health District This Local Health District provides a range of public health services across a geographic area of approximately 125,631 square kilometres. With around 241,000 residents living within the district, the LHD employs approximately 4,000 staff who work within the 31 hospitals and community facilities.   The main facility is a 117 bed hospital providing a range of acute specialist services (both resident & visiting) including emergency medicine, general medicine, surgery, paediatric medicine, oncology, obstetrics, intensive care, respiratory medicine, renal dialysis and rheumatology. Each year there are approximately 19,500 emergency presentations, 2,500 operations and 540 births.   Additional services include physiotherapy, dietetics, pharmacy, occupational therapy and Aboriginal health. There are also a range of diagnostic services including Pathology, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, General X-Ray and Mammography.   == The Location == Located in regional New South Wales, this community is well known for its world class wineries and gourmet produce.
