Work with a local health district in coastal NSW as Deputy Director of Medical Services & Clinical Governance. The position is part-time and is a fixed term appointment to 31 December 2019 with the opportunity for advancement at the end of the appointment.
The Deputy will report to the Executive Director of Medical Services and Clinical Governance (EDMSCG) and will assist and support the EDMSCG in leadership of the medical workforce and clinical services across all operational areas and facilities of the District. The Deputy will also have strategic and operational oversight, of the District's clinical governance functions, including safety and quality programs, accreditation, medico-legal issues, and incident management.
The DDMSCG and EDMSCG are supported by Directors of Medical Services in each hub, a strong Clinical Governance Unit and well-staffed Medical Workforce Unit including a District Director of Medical Workforce.

The Health Service
You will be joining one of the region’s largest employers with a workforce of more than 7,300 across eight hospital sites and community health services with an annual budget of more than $900 million, a Local Health District that is one of the top performing LHD’s within NSW Health currently. The catchment area extends about 250km along the coastal strip, servicing a population of more than 400,000 residents.
The region has a major referral and teaching hospital, with over 500 beds. This hospital provides a large variety of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services to ensure patients receive excellent health outcomes. The hospital treats 47,000 patients annually including specialist and complex cases. To meet the growing needs of the community the hospital is currently undertaking a $1000000 enhancement, so there is great potential moving forward. As a dedicated teaching hospital, the hospital has strong affiliations with prestigious universities and research institutions. There is even an academic suite used especially for the training medical students.

To be eligible to apply, you must be currently registered, or eligible for specialist registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Candidates with Fellowship with any of the specialist Australasian medical colleges combined with Medical Administration experience will be considered.
