== The Position == An opportunity has become available for a Spine Surgeon to join the Orthopaedic department for a 12-month fixed term contract. As a specialist within this department, you will provide a high standard of clinical practice and expertise to patients requiring under your care and act as an educator and mentor to junior medical staff attached to the unit. The Service This tertiary referral hospital is one of the largest in the region, delivering community, primary, secondary and tertiary health services.  The hospital offers complex specialist and acute services, procedures and treatments such as the intensive care unit, cardiac surgery, cancer care, cardiology procedures, neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery, and renal care available. You will be working in state of the art facilities that provide services to a regional population of 900,000 people. The principal focus of the service is high-quality patient care with particular emphasis on multidisciplinary patient management. Explore the plentiful vistas by walking, riding, swimming, paddling, sailing or diving and see the true beauty of New Zealand. == Essential Criteria == To be successful in applying for this position you must hold FRACS, Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, FRCS with CCT/CCST or American Board Certification of Orthopaedic Surgery.
