The Position

Wavelength has a vacancy for a Radiation Oncologist in an established centre in regional NSW. You will work with an integrated Elekta platform with two Synergy Linear Accelerators, Mosaiq, Monaco TPS, Siemens CT Simulation and Superficial Radiotherapy unit to utilise modern techniques inclusive of IMRT, IGRT, VMAT and SBRT. Utilising these modalities you will provide patients access to care with a customised approach within this collegiate team utilising support from clinicians and administrative staff. You will be committed to sharing your knowledge through teaching and research opportunities, alongside an opportunity to work across both public and private appointments.

Our Client is an established cancer care centre which has been established to offer patients in the region excellence in cancer care whilst eliminating the need to travel long distances. This allows patients in the region to receive the best possible cancer treatment available whilst remaining close to their home, family and friends. The Centre not only makes Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy services accessible but also acts as a catalyst to improve medical services in the region, particularly Oncology, Neuro-surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery and ENT. The combination of state of the art technology and highly-skilled staff, highlights the Cancer Care Centre's leadership in excellence in care, not only in Australia but worldwide. Further it is a model upon which future regional cancer care centres in Australia may be developed.

The Location

Situated on the Murrumbidgee River, this city is NSW's largest inland city and is considered the capital of the Riverina area of NSW. Halfway between Sydney and Melbourne and a two-and-a-half hour drive from Canberra. The region is bounded by the ski fields of the Snowy Mountains to the East and the fertile Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area to the west. With a population of 57,000, it is one of Australia's leading regional cities offering contemporary facilities as well as magnificent parks and gardens combined with culture and the performing arts. It is also home to a respected university and has a thriving medical community.

Essential Criteria

The successful candidate will hold fellowship with RANZCR and be registered as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
