This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a move to the beautifully diverse Central Queensland location to join the Staff-Specialist – Psychiatry (including Psycho-geriatrics) team.
You will provide high quality psychiatry services for the community of the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Services, whilst also providing clinical leadership for the Mental Health clinical team.
The position may also be required to provide services to other service locations within the Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Services, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of the beautiful local region!

This Hospital is a 305 bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland. This hospital offers Specialist Medical Services including but not limited to Emergency Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. The hospital ensures to align itself with their mission to deliver quality, evident integrated health services that focus on the patient’s journey by engaging in services that are sustainable effective, efficient and meet the needs of the community.
This hospital provides training to medical students and has a strong focus on registrar training and the Medical Education Unit. The service operates on the hospital campus and in the CBD, to provide specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents within the various communities in the Central Queensland area. This hospital is the principal service centre for this area therefore providing medical coverage, professional supervision and administration of the Mental Health Act 2016, support for accreditation and implementation of programs as well as acute inpatient facilities for the Central Queensland Mental Health teams.
The services offers a large demographic of the community and include services such as; acute & community based adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, indigenous mental health services, psychogeriatrics and consultation/liaison psychiatry.

|UK/Ireland||Must hold MRCPsych / FRCPsych plus UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more|
|USA||Must hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.|
|Canada||Must hold Fellowship in Psychiatry or Certificate in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.|
