The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a move to the beautifully diverse south west of Brisbane and join the Old Age Psychiatry team.   You will provide acute and continuing clinical care to patients of the Mental Health and Specialist Services and you will clinically manage on a day to day basis the associated multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the provision of appropriate client care.   In addition, you will provide professional leadership within psychiatry and provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members.   The Hospital This Hospital is a major acute hospital with 351 beds and offers services in all major health specialities, including anaesthetics, emergency, medicine, surgery, intensive and coronary care, orthopaedics, obstetrics, paediatrics, palliative care, rehabilitation and mental health along with a full range of allied health services.   It has a major teaching role, providing both undergraduate and postgraduate clinical education and training.   The Hospital expansion was completed in 2014. It includes expansion to the emergency department, operating theatres, birthing suite and the intensive care unit. In addition, State and Commonwealth Governments have also committed $6.7 million of capital funding to the hospital to enhance its existing services for children, including 12 emergency treatment spaces, six short stay beds and a separate child-friendly waiting area for families that will be supported by a team of staff with specialist skills in children?s health, and facilities will be enhanced for people accessing ear nose and throat services in the outpatients department.   == The Location == Being on the outskirts of a major city, and only a couple of hours drive from South Queensland?s best beaches, this is an ideal location to cater for those looking for peace and tranquillity and also city life and the beaches.   The area itself has much to offer indoors and outdoors, with wonderful nature reserves and art galleries.   Locals and visitors have been coming to the local Park to see animals for almost 80 years.
