This hospital is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for an 18-month contract in their inpatient unit. The hospital is a fully accredited psychiatric teaching hospital, and has research and education facilities located on the campus.
The role calls for a psychiatrist who is consultative and collegiate; is committed to working under a patient centred multi-disciplinary team approach; and is committed to clinical teaching and clinical research. The position reports to the Clinical Director.
The hospital is used as a major training facility for medical, nursing and other health professionals specialising in adult mental health. It is Western Australia's largest mental health inpatient facility, and the only public stand-alone psychiatric teaching hospital. There are 178 beds, and 320 nurses on staff.
Other services at the hospital include the State Forensic Mental Health Service, the Psychiatric Services Library, CECAT an art therapy centre and Statewide Indigenous Mental Health Services.
The hospital is just over 15 minutes’ drive from Perth CBD. With its close proximity to the Perth city centre, you will find yourself working among a fabulous range of attractions, parks and museums as well as shopping centres, theatres, world class restaurants and bars. Award winning small boutique wineries are just a short drive away in the Swan Valley, or head down the coast to the world famous Vineyards in the Margaret River Region.
