== The Position == As a Psychiatrist your primary responsibilities will revolve around the provision of specialist medical assessment and management of patients within the Mental Health Unit. Utilising your previous clinical experience you will provide effective high quality psychiatry services and adapt practice to reflect contemporary evidence. You will also be responsible for ensuring treatment plans are time effective and well documented, whilst participating fully in the on call roster as required by the facility.   This facility has an excellent professional development program, supervision and teaching opportunities. There is the opportunity for a joint appointment at the local University.   The Hospital The hospital is a 257-bed public hospital. As a teaching hospital they work closely the local university's and provide placements and clinical experience for students. The hospital is the main Mental Health Provider in the region as well has providing services in elective surgery, emergency care, aged care, obstetrics, pharmacy, rehabilitation and medical and radiation oncology.   The service operates across ten sites and provides inpatient and community mental health care for child and youth, adult and aged care service streams. It also operates a Community Residential Care Unit and a Prevention and Recovery Care Unit. The community service is supported by a 77 bed inpatient facility.   == The Location == Located less than 1.5 hours from Melbourne CBD, you have the best of both city and rural locations. As the regions entertainment headquarters, you have beautiful park lands, restaurants and historic sights on your door step.   == Essential Criteria == == The Position == requires a candidate with a solid background in psychiatric practice as well as registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Psychiatry with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) is required.
