The Position
Seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Forensic Psychiatrist. In this role, you will provide clinical duties to the Forensic Mental Health Service.  You will be working with the Mental Health, Justice Health and Alcohol & Drug Services. The Division encompasses; prevention, treatment, recovery, maintenance and harm minimisation. These services are available at various locations including hospital inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as community health centres to ensure patients receive excellent clinical outcomes.

The successful applicant will have broad experience in integrated mental health care across inpatient, community and other applicable settings.

The Work Environment
Mental Health, Justice Health and Alcohol & Drug Services delivers services at a number of locations, including hospital inpatient and outpatient settings, community health centres, detention centres, other community settings including peoples home. These services include:
• Rehabilitation and Specialty Services (RSS)
• Adult Community Mental Health Services (ACMHS)
• Adult Acute Mental Health Services (AAMHS)
• Alcohol & Drug Services (ADS)
• Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
• Justice Health Services(JHS), incorporating the Forensic Mental Health Service (FMHS)

The Forensic Mental Health Service (FMHS) is a specialist mental health assessment and treatment service for people who have a history of, are currently involved with, or are at high risk of becoming involved with, the criminal justice system. FMHS provides mental health care across the lifespan and across a range of settings, including a centralised community health facility, youth and adult custodial facilities, off campus community outreach and court settings.

Essential Criteria
Australia/NZMust hold FRANZCP and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA
UK/IrelandMust hold MRCPsych / FRCPsych plus UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT/CCST) and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more
USAMust hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
CanadaMust hold Fellowship in Psychiatry or Certificate in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
