== The Position == An opportunity is available for a Psychiatrist to work in the community mental health and addictions multidisciplinary clinical team. As part of this team, you will join a cross-district service that includes general adult, consultation liaison, child and adolescent, addiction and mental health services for the elderly. There will be a requirement to travel to provide services across the district, a regular opportunity to explore new areas while caring for the local community. Ideally, you will have a background of commitment to evidence-based practice, likes conducting education and training programmes and initiating research and/or service evaluation. The Hospital This appointment is based in a newly redeveloped secondary hospital that provides services including acute and elective medical, surgical and paediatric services. This facility services a population base of 50,000 that is rurally and coastally based and the District Health Board provides services to a population of 215,000. There is a community mental health and addiction facility as well as a 10 bed acute inpatient unit at the hospital. == The Location == You will have the pleasure of being based in New Zealand?s Bay of Plenty.
