You will join The Child and Youth Academic Clinical Unit as a Community Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist. The primary purpose of the position is to provide high quality psychiatric services, demonstrate clinical leadership to the Child and Youth Academic Clinical Unit, and to contribute to the overall development and quality of services.
This role provides direct psychiatric clinical services to patients of the Academic Clinical Units within the mental health service and supervision to medical officers and RANCZP trainees.

The hospital provides high quality treatment for patients while also offering world class facilities for health research and teaching. It is the largest clinical and research facility in Australia and for health students, the training environment is second to none.
The service has state-of-the-art facilities and provides clinical services in medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, mental health, paediatrics, emergency medicine with aeroretrieval, intensive care, palliative care, anaesthetics, allied health, ambulatory and outpatient. New services include radiotherapy, neuroscience and cardiac surgery. The hospital has 20 operating theatres and the emergency department is four times larger than the previous emergency department, and is supported by a new medical assessment unit.

|USA||Must hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.|
|Canada||Must hold Fellowship in Psychiatry or Certificate in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.|
Other qualifications can of course be assessed on a case-by-case basis. For those unable to work at Consultant level, there are multiple opportunities to take advantage of at Senior Medical Officer and Registrar level.
