The Opportunity   In the Child, Adolescent and Youth Mental Health Services, you will clinically lead staff providing patient care and foster standards of clinical excellence in the development and delivery of services in the Local Health District.   You will supervise clinical care provided by mental health clinicians, psychiatry registrars, and other junior medical officers as appropriate, and will participate in teaching of medical students and other trainees as required.   You will also provide direct clinical care, and this may encompass patients from the community and/or hospital units. Clinical care may include but is not limited to, patient consultation, review of referrals to guide disposition decisions, periodic case review, discharge review, second opinions, and oversight of clinical decision making.   The Hospital The Local Health District has acute, sub-acute, rehabilitation and state wide mental health units: Comprising of Community Mental Health Clinics and a 10 bed Child and Adolescent Acute Psychiatric Unit.   The Child and Adolescent Community Mental Health Service provides specialist assessment, intervention and treatment for children, young people and their families/carers who have or are at risk of developing mental health illness or disorders.   The core business of the Child and Adolescent Team is to provide a comprehensive mental health service to children and young people up to the age of 17/18 years with moderate to severe mental health problems and their families/carers.   == The Location == The road between the cities of Western NSW, winds through some of the most peaceful and picturesque places on the western slopes.
