== The Position == Wavelength are seeking a Consultant Paediatrician ready to take on an exciting new challenge in an up and coming hospital in New South Wales. Within this role you will be responsible for the provision of in-patient and out-patient clinical services. This is an opportunity to showcase your skills by planning and delivering innovations in clinical care to a large and sparsely distributed area. Working with various managers and the Director of Medical Services you will ensure patients receive a high standard of care and work towards the hospital becoming an accredited training site for registrars. As such an interest in teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and students is desirable. You will also be expected to actively promote research, Grand Rounds and clinical meetings. As an expert in your field, you will also monitor clinical indicators and outcomes and benchmark these against best practice. ? The Hospital You will be joining a busy public base hospital offering a range of comprehensive services. This includes Accident, Emergency, Obstetrics, Imaging, Pathology, Surgery, Mental Health, Dialysis, Paediatrics, Intensive & High dependency care, Diabetes, Specialist Medical centre, Oncology, Physiotherapy, Ambulatory Care & Breastscreens. The hospital also maintains a twenty-four hour emergency department. This is the key service provider for a region roughly a third of the size of New South Wales with a catchment population of roughly 120,000 people.   A major referral facility with 134 beds, this hospital annually sees 28,000 Emergency Department presentations, delivers 1,200 babies, admits 18,000 patients in total and performs 36,000 outpatient services.
