The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the largest Health Services in NSW.   The service is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist or Medical Administrator to fill the role of Clinical Director or Medical Administrator.   In the role you will work in partnership with the Executive Director Mental Health Service and the Mental Health Service Core Executive Team to strategically lead the delivery of mental health services across the district.   To be successful in the role you must have strong leadership skills and experience, where you have provided clinical advice and leading clinical change across a health service. While working with multiple stakeholders, you will focus on the total patient experience, while ensuring the service is robust and recovery focused, and that delivery is strength based and evidenced by best practice. You will ensure the region is working in the highest standard and abating to the changing needs and population of the health district.   The Hospital You will be joining one of the region?s largest employers with a workforce of more than 7,300 across eight hospital sites and community health services with an annual budget of more than $900 million, a Local Health District that is one of the top performing LHD?s within NSW Health currently. The catchment area extends about 250km along the coastal strip, servicing a population of more than 400,000 residents.   The region has a major referral and teaching hospital, with over 500 beds. This hospital provides a large variety of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services to ensure patients receive excellent health outcomes. The hospital treats 47,000 patients annually including specialist and complex cases. To meet the growing needs of the community the hospital is currently undertaking a $1000000 enhancement, so there is great potential moving forward. As a dedicated teaching hospital, the hospital has strong affiliations with prestigious universities and research institutions. There is even an academic suite used especially for the training medical students.   The Hospital provides excellent opportunities for Psychiatrists. On offer is a comprehensive range of psychiatric services including hospital-based, community and specialist services to youth, adults and aged people in the community.
