== The Position == As Clinical Director of Medicine you will lead and support a team of Physician colleagues with a good mix of experience and enthusiasm, enabling high quality, contemporary services integrated within the clinical services framework of the Hospital. Your key relationships with other clinical departments is critical as is ongoing service development. Additionally, this is an opportune chance to showcase your leadership and teaching skills through training and supervision of students and junior medical staff. The Hospital  The hospital has 104 beds servicing a fast growing immediate and surrounding population of 180,000 residents. As the acute facility in this rural community, the Hospital sees approximately 38,000 Emergency presentations per year with over 22,000 admissions. An expansive pathology laboratory was recently commissioned to assist in the provision of Emergency and specialist services to the growing region. The Hospital has an outstanding reputation for excellence in professional education and partnerships with local and state Universities. == The Location == The post is located near the Queensland Coast well known for its natural beauty and tourist attractions. A short drive to pristine beaches and National parklands the local community is active in a wide range of sporting and cultural activities. The sub-tropical climate offers warm year round temperatures perfect for exploring nearby towns and enjoying the numerous activities in the local area.  Although the town is rapidly growing and is a tourist destination, it has retained its relaxed and friendly lifestyle with affordable housing and a significant range of educational facilities available. The city centre is easily accessible by both car and public transport, offering a wide variety of shops both large and small. Essential Requirements To be successful in applying for this position you must hold FRACP and be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of requirements for managing medical services and possess developed leadership skills and experience in leading and contributing as a team member in a multidisciplinary approach to service provision.
