Seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Director in Adult Psychiatry in the nation’s capital! This position will provide clinical leadership, including clinical duties to the service. The role is also heavily involved with the ongoing development of the acute adult inpatient services within the service.
It is expected that (approximately) 75% of the Clinical Director’s time will be focused on their substantive clinical service delivery role and 25% will be allocated to the management duties.
In conjunction with the Director of Clinical Services, the appointee will be expected to provide a high level of clinical leadership to ensure that allocated resources are managed to meet all service delivery targets. A key role will be to ensure medical engagement with the Division, and to efficiently manage medical staff recruitment, placement and leave arrangements. The appointee will be expected to represent the Division both internally and externally in a range of strategic and planning forums.
The hospital that you will be working with provides specialised and acute care to the city and surrounding region. The hospital was established in 1991 and now has 600+ beds to serve a population of over half a million. Today the hospital is recognised as a national leader in the provision of high-quality healthcare, delivering a variety of medical, surgical and obstetric services. The hospital is also a principal university teaching hospital, affiliated with world class universities and research institutions.
The Adult Mental Health Services include the 37 bed Adult Mental Health Unit, the six bed Mental Health Unit within the Emergency Department and the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Services within the Emergency Department and general hospital. The two inpatient wards facilitate integrated and multidisciplinary care and treatment within a safe, functional and comfortable environment.

What’s on offer
A Salary between $271,472 - $359,926 inclusive of salary, applicable allowances and 10.5% super. There is also an additional managerial allowance of $22,148.
Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
