== The Position == As Chief Medical Officer, you will be a key member of the Executive team, and will contribute to the alignment and achievement of strategic objectives contained in the current Strategic Plan. You will be responsible for ensuring effective clinical governance, the provision of leadership, support and mentoring to direct reports and the development of positive relationships with Visiting Medical Officers and Specialists. It?s an exciting period of transition for this regional health service in Victoria; situated in one of the most picturesque regions in Australia. The role is 0.6 FTE with additional FTE negotiable for clinical interest. This hands-on, operational role would suit a medical administrator with a genuine desire to progress rural health services. The Hospital This large regional health service admits 10,000 patients and provides 30,000 outpatient services annually, servicing a growing population of over 44,000 people. The long established acute hospital has 51 acute beds, 20 sub-acute/rehabilitation beds, a modern theatre suite, emergency department, 5 bed short stay unit, palliative care and maternity services. Day services include a 9 bed Day Procedure Unit, a newly built 10 chair Oncology/Medical Ambulatory Day Unit and a 9 chair Dialysis Unit. In addition to acute care, the health service also provides core services through a 90 bed Aged Care facility, a full-range of Allied Health Services, Medical Outpatient Services, Home Based Services, including Hospital in the Home, Community Health and a CBD campus offering the community easy access to Maternity Care and a selection of Medical Imaging Services. == The Location == Situated in a major regional centre, the city has a variety of shops, dining establishments, sport, culture, historical and arts experiences to offer.
