Working in this well-resourced Emergency Department, with a friendly team of staff, including 4 FACEMs, you will provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to emergency patients, both in terms of individual performance and by contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care. Some out of hours work will be required, including weekends, evenings, and nights as rostered, earning up to $207,588 base salary.
You will have active involvement in the education program for medical and nursing staff, and participate in research projects as required.
This 82-bed public hospital is co-located with a 26-bed private hospital and a range of other health services. The Emergency Department (ED) provides emergency services to approximately 50,000 people a year. The ED provides urgent care, including mental health emergency care, to both adults and paediatric patients and is staffed with highly skilled emergency clinicians, nurse practitioners and emergency and mental health nurses, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
More than $12 million has recently been invested in the hospital to build new facilities and improve surgical services. This includes a new Day Surgery Unit with two new operating theatres, a new Renal Dialysis Unit and dedicated spaces for children and families in the Emergency Department.
The hospital is located approximately 30 minutes south of the Adelaide central business district. The hospital is well serviced by public transport, both bus and train. Adelaide is the capital of South Australia and has a population of 1.3 million people. It is known as the wine and festival capital of Australia.
Adelaide has a Mediterranean climate and the lowest house prices of any Australian major state capital. Local attractions include the popular southern beaches, restaurants and cafes, and the McLaren Vale wine district - all less than twenty minutes away.
To be successful in applying for this position you should have previous experience in Emergency Medicine. You must hold current registration with AHPRA or be eligible for general registration.
